The tight security within the premises of Yashraj Studios, the elegance of the red carpet, the presence of stars - who ensured that not a strand of hair was out of place at this very formal black tie event - only added to the seriousness and elegance of Filmfare.

Best Male Debutant Award went to Ranbir Kapoor - the lover boy of Saawariya - and the award was given by Jeetendra and Tushaar Kapoor.

The Sony Fresh Face of the Year Award goes to Deepika Padukone, the hot debutant of Om Shanti Om.

Priyanka Chopra came solo to announce the award for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) category. The award went to Irrfan Khan for Life In A Metro.

Konkona Sen Sharma received an award for Best Actor in a Suppoting Role (Female) for Life In A Metro. The award was presented by Niel Nitin Mukesh and Twinkle Khanna.

Rishi Kapoor was given Lifetime Achievment Award.

Bappi Lahiri and the ever-green Poonam Dhillon arrive to present the award for Best Music. It went to A R Rehman for Guru.

The Best Lyrics Award was given by Minissha Lamba and Sanjay Gadhvi to Prasoon Joshi for Maa, the song from Taare Zameen Par.

Shreya Ghoshal got an award for Best Playback Singer (Female) for Barso Re, the song from Guru and the award was given by Arshad Warsi and Mukesh Bhatt.

Award for the Best Dialogue went to Imitiaz Ali for the movie Jab We Met. The award was presented by Madhur Bhandarkar and Aftab Shivdasani.

The gorgeous Karisma Kapoor and Ramesh Sippy came to present the Power Award which went to Yash and Aditya Chopra.

Award for the Best Screenplay went to Anurag Basu for Life In A Metro. Fardeen Khan did the honours of presenting the award.

Amol Gupte got the Best Story Award for Taare Zameen Par from Kunal Kohli and Kangana Ranaut.

Saif and SRK introduced their own in-formal awards known as the Na-Real Awards! And the Na-Real Award for Wardrobe Malfunction went to Vidya Balan for her look in Heyy Babyy.

The most awaited filmy function - Filmfare Awards 2007 - eventuated on Saturday night - amongst much fanfare - at the Yash Raj Studios.

Glamorous Gul Panag was in a backless beige coloured gown. She was looking sensuous in her off shoulder silhouette.

Karan Johar made an entry in a black suit, looking stunning as usual. He was sporting a diamond cross on his suit, which gained everyone's attention.

Gauri Khan was looking gorgeous, in her silver off shoulder gown and she was wearing a pendant, which was complementing her look. Karisma Kapoor looked beautiful, in her silver white sari as she walked in with hubby, Sanjay Kapur.

Pooja Bedi was wearing a glamorous white colour outfit, in combination with olive green and red color, designed by Gauri and Nayonika.

Neil Nitin Mukesh looked dashing, in a suit designed by Narendra Kumar Ahmed.

Amrita Rao looked glamorous, in a purple silhouette. She was wearing this deep low neck shimmering dress, designed by Babita Malkani. Her make up and open long locks made her look more appealing.

Deepika Padukone looked sensuous, in a stunning black gown. She wore long shining earrings, that complemented her looks.

Tabu looked beautiful, in a white transparent sari, with a round neck blouse that added glamour to her look. Her make up and straight hair looked great.

Asin wins an international award

She is the biggest sensation down south and her Bollywood debut will go down in history as one of the biggest and most successful films ever. She is none other than Asin.This lass after making her Hindi film debut with Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan, has been in news for all the right reasons.And now adding another feather to her hat is her latest achievement of getting the Best Actress award for her role in Kamal Haasan's Tamil film Dasavathaaram by the Singapore-based International Tamil Film Awards (ITFA).The ITFA, which recognizes the contribution of film personalities and actors towards Tamil cinema on an international scale, will present the award to the actress at a ceremony which will be held on May 16 in Singapore.

If things go as planned, the eagerly awaited Bollywood movie Kambakkht Ishq will premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.The festival in the south of France can see Bollywood’s action and comedy king Akshay Kumar and style diva Kareena Kapoor walking the red carpet in May.High on style and oomph, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is a movie with an international appeal and tons of Hollywood glamour in the desirable shapes of stars like the ‘Rambo’ man Sylvester Stallone, ‘Wild Things’ sex siren Denise Richards, and ‘Superman’ Brandon Routh. So it’s not surprising that producer Sajid Nadiadwala is thinking of showcasing the film at Cannes.Reports say plans are already afoot to slice the movie’s running time and to dub it in English for the special screening at the Cannes Film Festival.

Ash-Abhi may celebrate anniversary in Europe

The ill-health of director Mani Ratnam has changed the plan of Ash-Abhi to skip celebration and shoot for ‘Raavan’ during their second marriage anniversary. Mani who was advised to take rest by doctors may take a short break from his work and may not work on the day of their anniversary. Ash-Abhi who failed to celebrate anniversary last year may head for Europe or the US on April 20.Ratnam was admitted to Chennai’s Apollo Hospital due to breathing difficulty and chest pain. Mani’s health has put a question mark whether they will shoot or not. Moreover Ash and Abhi who is very concerned about this health does no want him to take much strain. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif has finally ended up their relationship and decided to remain only as a good friend. Salman picked up fighting with Katrina for her closeness with Ranbir. PRIYANKA CHOPRA TO DO AN ITEM SONG IN HARMAN BAWEJA'S VICTORY

Now like a supportive girl friend Piggy Chops is set to do a sizzling item number in his next flick ‘Victory’. And hold your breath, the reports are that she would be wearing nothing but a two piece. She’ll be shooting for it early in the New Year. Harman might not admit it but it seems he’s shaken up by the fact that his extra expensive debut film bombed. The buzz is that there are no buyers for the flick.

Maybe that’s why he’s so hopeful that the inclusion of Priyanka might help the film to sell.
According to sources, ” The film ‘Victory’ was facing some production hassles and now they are finding it difficult to find buyers, especially since the industry is also reeling under the impact of the recession in the market. Although the film is backed by Adlabs; they are having trouble selling it. That Harman’s last film was a non-starter is also a factor. Distributors who had earlier shown interest have now backed out and agree to come back in on the deal if they are offered heavy cuts in the price.”

The source further adds, “Now one of the producers of the film, Manmohan Shetty, has urged the debutant director of the film, Ajit Pal, to put an item number in the film. This may just improve the prospects of the film on the ticket windows. Harman has requested girl friend Priyanka to do the number and she has agreed.”

The media preview of Chandni Chowk To China, held yesterday at the Oberoi Mall, Goregaon, provided eye candy in the form of its lead actors - the dapper Akshay Kumar and the svelte Deepika Padukone. Akshay Kumar was his charming self as he sang the title song of the film amidst thunderous applause, while Deepika Padukone stuck to answering media queries with élan.
